When transporting and storing sodium hydroxide, please observe the following precautions.

1. Packaging: Sodium hydroxide should be stored in sealed, corrosion-resistant containers, typically using suitable containers such as plastic drums or glass bottles. The packaging material should have good corrosion resistance and sealing properties to prevent contact with external air or moisture.

2. Labeling and Warnings: All packaging must clearly indicate that it contains sodium hydroxide and must also include warnings about its corrosive and irritating properties. Furthermore, relevant information regarding safe handling and disposal should be provided to ensure that transporters and users can handle the product appropriately.

3. Prevent Moisture Absorption: Sodium hydroxide is highly hygroscopic and readily reacts with moisture in the air. When storing sodium hydroxide, ensure the storage environment is relatively dry and avoid exposure to humidity.

4. Avoid exposure to high temperatures: High temperatures can cause the water in the sodium hydroxide solution to evaporate, leading to concentration and increased risk. Therefore, avoid exposing the solution to high temperatures during storage and transportation.

5. Segregation: Sodium hydroxide should be stored separately from acids, flammable materials, and combustibles to prevent hazardous reactions or accidents.

6. Handling and Transportation: When handling and transporting sodium hydroxide, operators must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety goggles, masks, and gloves. Sodium hydroxide should be transported in a safe manner, avoiding collisions, drops, or leaks.

7. Spill Management: In the event of a sodium hydroxide spill, immediate action should be taken to contain and clean up the spill to prevent further hazards. A neutralizing agent, such as acetic acid, can be used to neutralize the solution.
