The main function of this type of flocculant is to coagulate negatively charged particles, providing turbidity removal and decolorization. In wastewater treatment applications such as alcohol plants, monosodium glutamate plants, sugar refineries, meat processing plants, ore processing plants, and textile dyeing plants, cationic polyacrylamide is significantly more effective than anionic polyacrylamide, non-ionic polyacrylamide, or inorganic salts, often by a factor of several times or even dozens of times, because these types of wastewater generally carry a negative charge.

Cationic polyacrylamide is suitable for use in specialized sludge dewatering equipment such as high-speed centrifuges, belt filter presses, and plate-and-frame filter presses. It is characterized by rapid flocculation, large floc size, high resistance to compression and shear, good floc formation, and easy separation from filter cloth. As a result, it achieves high dewatering rates, reduces the moisture content of the filter cake, and minimizes the use of chemicals, significantly lowering the user's operating costs. It can also be used to separate and purify suspended solids from liquids such as hydrochloric acid and medium-concentration sulfuric acid. Therefore, this product is widely used in sludge dewatering treatment in urban sewage treatment plants, breweries, food processing plants, tanneries, paper mills, petrochemical plants, metallurgy, and the chemical industry.
